Job Description

  • Oversees the installation and client acceptance of capitalized equipment, enterprise software system, system integration project or engagement.
  • Provides on-site day-to-day activities between client and company personnel. Ensures customer satisfaction of information technology solutions by managing the details of overall project schedules and deliverables.
  • Typically uses more project management skills than technical skills. However, technical knowhow is strongly preferred
  • Usually involves extensive interaction with sales, systems engineering, product development, technology teams and other members of cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products to clients.
  • Plans and directs schedules and budget and manages scope. Monitors the project from initiation through delivery. Organizes the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints.
  • Works on large and/or complex projects. Could work on multiple projects or be called upon to act as a program manager. Creates and maintains project management processes and procedures to ensure that projects are developed and implemented according to approved business requirements.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Master's degree preferred. PMP certification preferred

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 8 years project management experience managing complex implementations
  • Strong analytical skills, is a solid negotiator and facilitator.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite or equivalent. Proficient with a project scheduling software tool-MS Project preferred.
  • Must be able to interface at appropriate management levels with moderate customer interface.
  • Possess and applies a knowledge of project management principals, practices and procedures.
  • Solid leadership qualities.
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision and be accountable for actions and decisions.
  • Analytical skills and a solid facilitator.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite or equivalent.
  • Advanced Excel and SharePoint skills a plus.
  • Proficient with a project scheduling software tool-MS Project preferred.
  • Experience with network/MQ preferred
  • Understanding of database (oracle/MySQL) preferred
  • Technical background preferred

Product Life Cycle:

  • Working knowledge of phases of the product life cycle, including engineering specifications, customer requirements gathering, software design and development, testing - including unit, functional, systems and integration implementation/delivery and maintenance.

Project/Program Leadership; Risk & Issues Assessment

  • Ownership of projects - follows through on commitments and does what is needed to ensure desired results
  • Familiarity with various development and implementation methodologies
  • Ability to assess/manage risks, issues, and escalations
  • Addresses challenges / tough problems quickly and directly

Analytics /Intellectual Curiosity/ Innovation

  • Process-driven and embraces continuous improvement
  • Challenges the status quo. Innovative / pioneering thinking
  • Uses questions to cut through strongly-held or legacy-driven points of view

  • Collaborative and comfortable working with technical counterparts and able to gain working level knowledge of technical items and issues

  • Excellent oral/written communication. Expresses thoughts clearly and concisely
  • Experienced working with the customers and understanding their context
  • Evaluates decisions and actions through the lens of meeting or exceeding customer needs
