Job Description

 

Acts as single point of accountability for the negotiation & delivery of tailored solutions to Sabre´s agency community. Is responsible to lead a global team of software engineers towards efficient and successful execution of the development efforts. Position with excellent opportunity for growth of service revenue.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Professional Service leader is ultimately accountable for the successful execution of tailored development efforts globally
  • People leadership of a global team of Software Engineers
  • Accountable for the entire lifecycle of delivering tailored solutions to agency customers including effort estimation, fee negotiation, discovery, design, development, testing, deployment and handover or continued maintenance at scope, price and time. Always partnering with Sabre Sales and customer’s team.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to software engineers team on how to execute with impact against the defined project scope and timelines
  • Reports performance weekly and provides updates at global executive leadership meetings
  • Systematically tracks human resource capacity utilization, owns delivery workforce planning, and coordinates other resource needs through partners and other stakeholders in the matrix organization (e.g. requesting project managers from Strategic Programs & Services team etc.)
  • Ensures allocation of resources in alignment with sales strategy & services goals and coordinates with regional sales leadership, product & technology consultancy team as well as global agency solution delivery team to ensure delivery resources are fully utilized with revenue driving activities
  • Provides direction and input to continuously improvement of software development process to ensure global consistency, increased scalability, and revenue. Ensure all new developments are created with the idea to be expanded, reutilized, modularized.

Job Requirements

 

  • Strong Leadership skills; leading global team across different markets
  • 5+ years’ experience in developing customer facing products
  • Experience in software development best practices to guide team to deliver quality of performance, usability, reliability, maintainability and extensibility
  • Strong understanding of Java or C# or C++, JavaScript and Typescript
  • Experience working with and designing RESTful APIs (AJAX, JSON)
  • Experience working on integrating external APIs using SOAP / XML
  • Tourism industry knowledge with focus in travel agencies operations; basic knowledge on travel agency processes and intermediate GDS concepts, at least 3 years of experience working with any GDS
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Fluent in English; further languages is a plus
  • Convincing sales, negotiation and communication skills; ability to rigorously prioritize; able to build relationship internally and externally with customers and technology partners
