Job Description

Designs, implements and directs legal business matters pertaining to the organization or for a business unit, division or subsidiary. Provides a variety of general corporate and commercial legal services to a number of in-house clients. Acts as advisor on legal issues involving the organization's government and regulatory compliance. Reviews legal data and advises organization on appropriate legal action to be taken. Coordinates legal matters handled by outside counsel. Demonstrates expert experience in general corporate matters, including corporate organization, drafting transactional documents, license agreements, employment law, immigration law, regulatory matters, risk management asset-backed financing and contract management. Experience in trade secrets, advertising law, registration and other resolutions specific to the computer and technology industry as well as government reporting.

Will be a strategic partner to the business units and will have primary responsibility for legal support of the business units in commercial transitions in the LAC region.   In addition, this role will have the following responsibilities:

Support other legal matters in the LAC region such as privacy, regulatory compliance, litigation, corporate governance, anti-corruption, legal training, and labor/employment matters. 

Coordinates legal matters handled by outside counsel in the LAC region and manage outside counsel budgets.

Assist with other commercial transaction located in the Americas regions.

Job Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Behavioral Attributes:

  •   Minimum of 7 years of relevant legal experience, prefer prior in-house experience. 
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Law degree from accredited law school.  Licensed to practice law in applicable jurisdiction.

•            Experience in fast paced, global organization.

•            Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).   Portuguese is a plus.

•            Exceptional relationship building skills – ability to work effectively and have high impact working at all levels – upward/downward/sideways.  Ability to work effectively with peers around the world

•            Self-starter, flexible mindset, and able to juggle multiple priorities

•            Demonstrates an enterprise mindset, ensures the team supports the needs of the broader business.  Works openly and collaboratively.
