Job Description

The position is a key member of the Procurement team that is responsible for supporting Category leads in their planning, development, execution and management of defined Technology or Labor Categories. This position reports to Sr.Category Manager and requires close working relationships with internal customers, key suppliers, and Business Groups.



  • Supporting the planning, development and execution of Sabre’s sourcing plans/activities under the gamut of Sabre’s Corporate Services category including contract labor /general consulting services (legal, application development, consulting, audit, accounting, etc.), MarComm, IT Managed Services, Business Process Outsourcing, Facilities, HR services, and Special Projects.
  • Supports the execution of strategic sourcing processes led by the Category Managers for the Non-IT Services categories such as Financial Services and General Consulting.
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal customers and key suppliers.  Is involved in leading cross-enterprise sourcing activities. Questions conventional thinking and norms and provides alternatives that can improve outcomes. Provides category support to BUs to influence sourcing strategies, supplier selections and sourcing decisions.
  • Drives cost savings and risk mitigation in sourcing related activities.
  • Facilitates fact-based negotiations and prepares simple contracts utilizing approved terms and conditions and possesses the ability to write, edit and finalize contracts with minimal support from Sabre Legal.  Seeks to gain consensus on acceptable risk levels and contract language with all stakeholders including Legal, Risk, Business Unit leadership and others with the support of the Category leads.
  • Performs spend analysis for various categories and identifies sourcing opportunities.  Develops and executes plans to capture sourcing opportunities.


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain Management or related discipline preferred. 
  • Experience / specific knowledge:
  • 2-4 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, contract management, or supply chain management. Experience in procurement in a technology company preferred. Management consulting on sourcing advisory projects would be a plus. 
  • Demonstrated category expertise in two or more of different types of services.  
  • Ability to take large amounts of data from multiple sources and perform analysis in Excel or Access.  
  • Experience with commercial transactions and negotiation. Ability to influence business decisions and procedures. 
  • Must be a team player , take initiative, and be an out-of-the-box thinker.
  • Must have strong communication (written and verbal), organization, problem-solving and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels of management and employees. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and Power Point.  Knowledge of SharePoint, ERP and Contract Management/Purchasing Systems. (SAP and Ariba preferred).
  • Fluency in Spanish and English
  • Portuguese is a plus
