Job Specific Description

The Sr. Principal Strategic Pricing will lead Airline Solutions global pricing strategy.  Ideal candidates will have a background in technology pricing, solution marketing, and strong analytical skills to make recommendations that are data driven and assess potential benefits/impact to the Airline Solutions business performance.  The role will focus on pricing software, maintenance, and services for all lines of business. The position will have high visibility within the company and interact with finance, sales, marketing, solution teams, and executive management.

This high profile position will be responsible for establishing the strategic direction for Airline Solutions pricing policies across all business lines, including: 

  • Develop and implement pricing strategies based on economic and competitive dynamics
  • Price new solutions and services appropriately based on the value customers receive
  • Drive change into a large, distributed sales organization
  • Devise and execute pricing and bundling strategies for all of Airline Solutions
  • Establish data-driven best practices for pricing and bundling
  • Develop business cases to support pricing decisions
  • Rationalize pricing models across product lines and newly acquired companies
  • Work closely with key business stakeholders including  Finance,  Sales, Solution Management, and Marketing  to define and implement optimal pricing and profitability strategy
  • Evaluate pricing effectiveness and modify current pricing structure as needed
  • Conduct market research and perform competitive pricing analysis
  • Implement pricing recommendations based on internal studies and market analysis
  • Communicate price position, profitability targets and KPIs to the executive team and key stakeholders on a regular cadence
  • Work with Accounting to ensure SOX compliance and appropriate revenue allocation
  • Monitors and reports regional and/or global competitive and cost trends
  • Influences discounting activities to ensure EBITDA targets are met
  • Develop and improving sales pricing tools, processes and metrics

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve buy-in with internal business partners
  • Talent for driving sound decision-making with imperfect data
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement pricing strategies based on economic and competitive dynamics
  • Experience supporting customer negotiations
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to educate and institute discipline with commercial discussions

Requirements:

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Marketing or similar discipline is required. MBA degree is preferred.
  • Significant technology industry and pricing experience
  • Significant technology solution marketing experience
  • 10-15 years’ work experience
  • Team leadership skills
  • Strong analytical skills
