Job Description

The Senior Director, Product Management is responsible for defining and communicating the strategic path of both current and future products as well as being engaged in the day-to-day decisions regarding product development and product releases.  This role will lead new product conception, definition, launch, and post-launch activities, including increasing the profitability of existing products. This includes managing products and services through the development cycle as well as working with and influencing sales, marketing, finance, operations, implementation and product development, and senior management to achieve revenue and profit goals. The position provides end-to-end management support for more complex products or multiple products requiring long-term decision making.

  • Leads the innovation efforts for their product area, leveraging deep customer, buyer, and market understanding
  • Defines product strategy and product road maps with clear objectives and long-term vision. Ensures delivery of innovation and customer value through product development
  • Complete a comprehensive assessment of market offerings, product gaps and client needs
  • Drives discovery from both a qualitative and quantitative context to build solid business plans and strategies
  • Manages appropriate ROI and related financial analysis of products. Identifies product enhancements to balance a favorable return on investment with customer needs.
  • Manages the coordination and analysis of market research to understand customer behavior, product satisfaction, and emerging business opportunities.
  • Determines clear prioritization and appropriate trade-offs regarding implementation issues based upon understanding constraints, dependencies, costs, resources and customer benefits
  • Defines value positioning for products in partnership with the Go-to-Market team
  • Formulates, documents, and communicates tactical, actionable requirements for product development
  • Works with prospects, customers and partners to define product requirements and functionality. Engages in customer-facing activities such as customer conferences, customer visits and trade shows
  • Teams with product development to orchestrate the development and release process. Deep understanding of how to translate product, marketing, and technical requirements into simple UI/UX
  • Suggests and drives partnerships for products. Collaborates with various departments to ensure product delivery and quality goals are achieved and maintained.
  • Lead, mentor and coach a team of high-performing Product Managers to drive the evolution of Sabre products to pace and exceed industry standards
  • Achieves revenue goals.

Job Requirements

  • BS degree (or equivalent), with preference given to computer science and other technology-related disciplines or equivalent experience
  • Preference given to those with advanced business or technology degrees (MBA, MS, PhD)
  • 10+ years of Product Management experience from previous roles
  • 10+ years of leading product development teams using multiple methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort in a matrix organization environment
  • Capability to develop and execute business plans, including understanding of key financial metrics
  • Highly collaborative
  • Ability to effectively lead teams and deliver results
  • Basic understanding of the travel industry
