The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer is a member of the Sabre Risk & Security team. The security team member works under the guidance of the security engineering manager and other team members to plan, design, implement and operate security tools and process.  

Sabre’s Cybersecurity team is responsible to protect Sabre through the employment of tools, technologies, and processes to detect, respond to, and remediate all security attacks on information technology.

  • Develop technology solutions as per business and technical requirements. 
  • Maintain Cybersecurity best practices and compliance program requirements. 
  • Maintain detailed process documentation. 
  • Works directly with business teams to quickly resolve security events, requirements, and operational needs. 

The successful candidate will have:



  • Direct experience designing and managing security infrastructure — e.g., firewalls (GCP/AWS and Palo Alto virtual firewalls), web application firewalls (Imperva/Incapsula, Cloud Armor, AWS WAF)
  • Fluency with scripting/markdown languages, and VCS systems:
    • Terraform
    • Ansible
    • Python
    • Asciidocs/Anatora/UML
    • git
  • Experience with developing/maintaining CI/CD pipelines as part of a larger developer focused organization
  • Deep understanding of IT and cloud technologies/infrastructure:
    • Operating systems — Windows and Linux including:
      • Domain architecture
      • Linux Identity management
      • OS scripting (powershell/bash)
    • PKI infrastructure for Windows and Linux/ACME
    • Cloud resources (GCP/AWS)
      • IAM and Access Controls (projects/accounts, role customization, identity)
      • Cloud native technologies (serverless, cloud database, container PaaS)
      • IaaS technologies (compute, storage, network)
      • Autoscaling and dynamic resource management
  • Working knowledge of IT service management (e.g., ITIL-related disciplines):
    • Change management
    • Asset management
    • Incident management
  • Understanding of Agile and Scrum


Preferred Experience 


  • Fluency in scripting such as Terraform and Python 
  • Proficiency with Agile/Scrum and Software Development Life Cycle frameworks
  • Experience designing the deployment of applications and infrastructure into public cloud services.
  • Knowledge of common security attack tactics, techniques, and procedures
  • Knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), CIS Benchmarks, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS)
