Job Description

Position is responsible for the Travel Solutions Segment accounting functions including revenue recognition, monthly close processes, balance sheet analysis,  and billing.  Also responsible for Sabre-wide revenue recognition governance and policies.  Responsible for end-to-end billing activities including invoicing, project system integration and revenue recognition in a complex software/SaaS environment.  Responsible for several SOX processes and implementing improvements in existing control environment.   The position is also responsible for leading the team through business systems transformation initiatives that include key decisions, resource allocation and change management.

 

Responsible for coordinating with Finance and the business to ensure new contracts and activities are accounted for properly and proper controls established.  Responsible for researching and documenting complex accounting issues for management and working with audit team in various instances.

 

Direct and manage a large and diverse team responsible for accounting, billing, revenue recognition and implementation of new billing system for Travel Solutions. Five direct reports range from Manager to Director level and overall team size of 70 team members globally.

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

 

Education:  Bachelor's degree in Accounting required, Master’s degree preferred 

 

Experience:  

  • Minimum 12 years; prior team management and leadership experience required; 
  • Strong technical knowledge of revenue recognition accounting principles particularly within a SaaS/software environment; 
  • Skilled at team development and actively growing the careers of teammates 
  • Strong research and documentation skills; 
  • Knowledge of SOX and control environments; 
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical and communication skills; 
  • Strong project management, change management and team management skills; 
  • Ability to interface with all levels of personnel; 
  • CPA required with public accounting experience; 
  • Industry experience in public environment preferred; 
  • Knowledge of software technology business processes and the SaaS industry desired;
  • Previous experience in lead to cash process preferred;
  • Experience with SAP and implementing billing systems desired.
