Senior Accountant – Technical Accounting

As part of Sabre’s Technical Accounting team, you will take on interesting and challenging responsibilities which include staying on the cutting-edge of new regulatory pronouncements, engaging in transaction advisory for non-routine transactions, and best-in-class technical writing. You will report to the Manager of Technical Accounting. The team is made up of collaborative, diligent, and diverse professionals that seek to support our corporate and business partners with the timely technical answers they need to drive value for stakeholders while upholding Sabre’s values.

You will have the opportunity to interact with a broad and diverse group of corporate and business partners: Treasury, Finance, Investor Relations, Corporate Development, Segment Accounting, Legal, Tax, Internal Audit, and Senior Management.

 

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant – Technical Accounting include:
• Conduct and document research of non-routine accounting transactions to conclude on the appropriate application of U.S. GAAP
• Monitor FASB and SEC activities to identify any potential impact of new pronouncements and prepare technical accounting standard updates on a quarterly basis
• Develop and teach technical accounting training material across the CFO’s organization
• Provide technical accounting support for revenue recognition, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures including due diligence, contract review, purchase accounting and any ongoing analysis
• Assist in drafting footnotes and other required disclosures for our quarterly and annual filings with the SEC, as related to the areas of debt, derivatives, goodwill and intangibles, and fair value.
• Record monthly and quarterly transactions as it relates to derivatives, debt, intangibles, and goodwill
• Annual definite lived and indefinite lived intangible impairment assessment
• Assist with various special projects as needed (e.g. new accounting standards adoption).

Job Requirements

Education & Certifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting required
• CPA license required

 

Required Experience & Skills:
• Three (3) years of experience in public accounting at a “big 4” firm or comparable professional service firm.
• Experience with accounting and financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP, including the preparation and/or review of financial statements and footnotes
• Ability to successfully manage multiple projects with competing priorities and tight deadlines
• Strong organizational and time management skills /ability to continually prioritize workload and respond to top priorities with a sense of urgency
• Detail-oriented with both the ambition and willingness to dive into the details necessary to accomplish responsibilities and solve problems
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
