Senior Strategy Analyst

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

As a member of the Sabre Travel Solutions Strategy team, the Senior Travel Solutions Strategy Analyst will assume a strategic role in the overall growth and success of Sabre’s Travel Solutions. The position will report to and work with seasoned strategy professionals from top consulting firms such as BCG and Bain & Company. This position will be responsible for supporting both near-term and longer-term strategy development for TS. This role will work across both the TS strategy team and other TS departments to develop business unit strategy and tackle pressing issues raised by business leaders.  

 

A SAMPLE OF 2018 PROJECTS INCLUDE:

  • Next generation distribution technology: Long-term project focused on identifying key industry technology needs, understanding gaps within current technology, and coordinating a cross-functional team to develop new technologies. During this project, the team:
    • Assessed industry trends via interviews with agencies, suppliers, and corporate travel managers
    • Developed a factbase on the current state of travel technology and recommended further areas to invest in
    • Defined commercial model implications for new technologies
    • Coordinated the technology development project launch: developed priorities and workplan, defined roles and responsibilities, and identified deliverables
    • Managed a cross-functional team including key stakeholders from the product teams for Travel Network and Airline Solutions
    • Shared recommendations with the CEO, CFO, and BU Presidents in bi-weekly update meetings

 

·         Product and Pricing Strategy and go-to-market Strategy: Shorter-term project focused on evaluating product value propositions and developing a value-based pricing approach for market roll-out. During this project, the team:

o    Led a cross-functional team in developing product strategy, commercial positioning, and go-to-market strategy

o    Assessed competitive landscape and profiled target segments

o    Created and tested pricing, bundling, and discounting constructs in the marketplace

o    Leveraged best practices from previous experience to assist sales and product marketing in building commercial pipelines and a go-to-market plan

o    Built pitch decks and negotiation positions for large customers

o    Facilitated and led negotiations and pricing discussions for key customers

o    Aligned senior stakeholders across product, sales, marketing, and operations

o    Principal of TN Strategy: previous BCG Sr. Associate

o    VP of Corporate Development: previous JP Morgan investment banker

·         Limited travel: Travel requirements are a fraction of the average strategy consulting experience

·         Path to P&L role: Your access to leaders and diversity of roles will make you a natural fit for P&L roles in the business

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience, including a successful track record of developing and implementing business strategy, financial modeling and analysis, competitive analysis, and business planning
  • Uncompromising integrity, character, and intellectual honesty; one who strives to do the right thing and deliver quality results; a team member with the courage and conviction to speak their position
  • Financially astute business leader with sound decision making, strategic acumen, and process improvement and analytical problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong presence and previous experience related to supporting key customers/clients and articulating a company’s direction, plans, and approach, both within one-on-one environments and larger groups  
  • Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively with all levels of management, with the capability to guide, educate, and influence the thinking of senior decision makers
  • Strong internal and external relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity and complex strategic analysis projects
  • An undergraduate degree in an area of rigorous study is required. Experience with a top-tier strategy consulting firm is preferred
