Job Description

Sabre Airline Solutions® is seeking a Solution Manager for the Sabre® AirCentre Flight solutions.  The Flight solutions include:

  • Flight Plan Manager (FPM). FPM is an industry leading flight planning and flight operating system with in-flight decision support that enables airlines to plan flights efficiently and safely. FPM is tightly integrated with other flight operations systems such as operations control, crew control and situational awareness systems
  • eFlight Manager (EFM).  EFM is one of a kind mobile briefing and flight planning solution.
  • ACARS Manager (AM).  AM is a solution that manages all the airline communications with the aircraft and enables integration across all solutions and platforms.
  • Flight Explorer (FE).  FE utilizes a powerful graphical user interface that allows airlines to track aircraft and proactively alert on changes that require action.  

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

As a key member of the Sabre AirCentre Flight solution management team, the solution manager will assume a strategic role in the overall growth and success of the Sabre AirCentre Flight Solutions business.  Reporting to the Director of Solution Management, the Solution Manager will be responsible for driving the creation of a long-term vision and developing/executing a strategy and overall roadmap for the Flight solutions with a key focus on Flight Plan Manager. The Solution Manager will leverage their business knowledge, experience of flight operations, and flight planning software user experience to collaboratively work with other groups such as marketing, sales, technology/development, finance, quality assurance and delivery to make their products a business success.  This position will enable contribution through the following key responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative approaches to solve new and existing business problems
  • Understand the market opportunity, customer needs, and competitive actions to define differentiated products
  • Create product descriptions that ensure a common understanding and consistent expectations amongst the internal team as well as the customers
  • Be a champion for new and innovative solutions and capabilities powered and enabled by the platform
  • Gather requirements from existing and potential customers, write business requirements documents, and monitor the implementation of each project
  • Monitor new technology trends and identify areas of innovation relative to distinct competencies and market /business needs
  • Plan and execute the go-to-market strategy including which markets to sell, pricing, positioning, and messaging for this product portfolio
  • Identify customer and internal KPIs, track impact of product investments relative to those KPIs, and rationalize roadmap relative to results

Job Requirements

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, IT, Aeronautical Science, or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years working with flight operations software is preferred
  • Airline Flight Operations and flight planning expertise
  • Understanding of aircraft performance, ACARS, regulatory frameworks (EASA OPS, FAR)
  • Understanding of interaction with network management authorities (Eurocontrol, FAA, and other government agencies))
  • Market research, competitive analysis, evaluating and negotiating 3rd party strategic partnerships
  • Superior strategic mindset & agility - macro, long term view, grounded in fact and reality
  • Strong strategic, analytical and critical thinking skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate to the senior executives
  • Ability to distill complex information into simple and meaningful insights & conclusions (and bring everyone along to drive alignment & action)
  • High level of comfort with ambiguity
  • Leadership via influence - ability to generate buy in, viewed as credible
  • Thought leader. Strong commitment to excellence, integrity, and transparency
  • Process & action oriented - not an "academic" strategist - someone who can make things happen  (more of an "operator" who's great at strategy formulation)
  • Product management experience
