Job Description

SABRE IS LOOKING FOR A TALENTED SENIOR COMPLIANCE DIRECTOR. 

 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Lead the Compliance team which implements Sabre compliance programs, including Code of Business Ethics as well as Supplier Code of Conduct; supports the development and revision of the annual compliance work plan
  • Foster and ensure compliance with company policy and applicable laws and regulations relating to all facets of the business and HR, including, but not limited to SOX, SEC, FCPA, wage and hour, and social responsibility 
  • Conduct internal compliance reviews and monitor related activities, and provide regular reporting to senior management
  • Participate in development/refinement of policies and programs for reporting suspected fraud and non-compliance
  • Coordinate and develop compliance training programs to ensure that all appropriate employees and business and vendor partners are knowledgeable of, and comply with, pertinent laws and regulations as well as Sabre’s policies and procedures
  • Respond to government investigations and queries as appropriate and necessary
  • Monitor external audit review processes, maintain awareness of compliance issues
  • Review, evaluate, recommend and implement compliance standards, programs and practices; conduct reviews and benchmarking; and work with third-party audit and other departments to assess programs
  • Schedule and oversee compliance audits to identify areas of risk and define and recommend improvements to address identified gaps or improvement needs
  • Investigate allegations of noncompliance; present compliance issues; coordinate compliance audits; and make case-by-case decisions regarding issue closure
  • Support and lead change in the organization, while fostering a culture that drives results and equally focuses on product, service and execution
  • Provide strong leadership in the recruitment, training and development of top quality talent to ensure the team has a high level of performance, productivity, accountability, and transparency
  • Provide advice and direction for investigations, terminations and employee disputes globally
  • Coordinate and manage employment related legal matters handled by outside counsel, including defending employment lawsuits and pursing TROs to enforce restrictive covenants
  • Provide counseling and advice to senior management regarding employment matters
  • Advise HR and business leaders on matters pertaining to workforce reductions
  • Oversee the management of the annual Affirmative Action Plan process for the U.S.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS 

 

Must Have Skills:

  • Juris Doctorate from top school 
  • Law license in good standing; licensed (or able to be licensed) in Texas
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in senior compliance, labor & employment roles and international compliance
  • Progressive responsibilities creating and managing mature Compliance Program(s)

 

Nice To Have Skills:

  • Excellent academic and law firm credentials
  • Experience in sales or tech industry preferred, with experience or exposure to international and labor & employment compliance requirements
  • Experience in a dynamic in-house environment preferred
  • Strong track record of building and developing strong teams, strategic partnerships and relationships
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and prioritize competing deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to be responsive and accessible to internal clients
  • Proven leadership and managerial skills; ability to interact with executives, Board members, regulators, outside counsel, and all levels of organization
