Job Description

The Senior Accounting Manager reports directly to the Senior Vice President Corporate Controller. The position is responsible for ensuring the results of Sabre are accurately reflected in the financial statements. As a result, the position requires interaction and coordination with many departments with the company, upper management and the external auditors. This individual will also maintain the internal control environment regarding all areas of responsibility.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve staff’s working including journal entries, accounting reconciliations and balance sheet analysis
  • Provide technical accounting guidance to the department, finance and the business as questions, issues and new guidance arise
  • Due diligence on new acquisitions, financial statement footnote preparation and the accounting for derivative instruments, debt and related interest
  • Lead special projects 
  • Working knowledge of several accounting pronouncements and the ability to document findings in summary format for management review is required

Job Requirements

Education:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required, Masters preferred 

 

Experience:  

  • Minimum 10 years accounting experience; prior management/supervisory experience preferred 
  • Technical knowledge of accounting principles and their application  
  • Strong research skills 
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills 
  • Strong documentation skills and ability to summarize complex topics and concepts Ability to review processes and implement improvements 
  • Strong project management and staff management skills 
  • Ability to interface with all levels of personnel 
  • CPA with public accounting experience required
