Job Description

Specific Responsibilities

·         Assure accurate analysis and reporting of ROI across the three business units, Travel Network, Airline Solutions (collectively now Travel Solutions) and Hospitality Solutions enabling the business units to link business and financial outcomes with their respective investments.

·         Identify, measure, and drive productivity across a complex global high-performance Travel Solutions and Hospitality Solutions business units.

·         Break down silos and promote collaboration across the business units.

·         Lead the development and ongoing monitoring of KPI’s for the business units.

·         Lead continuous improvement of the business unit reporting packages to drive improved business performance.

·         Improve financial systems to efficiently identify cost drivers by business unit, customers and products, from fragmented and disparate information sources, in support of strategic and operational initiatives that assure the efficient operation of the day-to-day Finance business function.

·         Provide finance lead support in the execution of M&A activity.

·         Provide finance lead support in the execution of the Sabre strategy within the FP&A teams, including streamlining and driving efficiencies in reporting practices.

·         Be the key financial business partner for the President of Travel Solutions.

·         Provide oversight and leadership to the FP&A leads and teams for the business units.

 

Additional Responsibilities

·         Provide oversight and direction for financial planning and budget management functions.

·         Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of the business units.

·         Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.

·         Provide strategic leadership for the FP&A teams.

·         Provide leadership and support to teams as they prepare financial reports, outlooks and forecasts, and work with functional department leadership to develop multi-year business plans.

·         Review and provide guidance for the financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions.

·         Lead teams to establish short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.

·         Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure to effectively accomplish the department goals and objectives.

·         Serve as finance lead on various Travel Solutions and Hospitality Solutions strategic initiatives.

·         Identify control weaknesses in financial processes and support/coach FP&A leaders to identify and implement solutions to address issues.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience in a senior level finance position in a technology organization. He/she will have an expert knowledge of finance, capital allocation and risk adjusted return, accounting, budgeting, performance management, and cost control principles. Superior communication skills with an ability to communicate complex issues in a crisp, clear and concise way will be ideal. In addition, having the ability to identify problems, formulate solutions, influence others, and drive results are important skills for this role. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Qualified candidates for this important position will need to demonstrate the following core competencies:

·         Financial Sophistication:  The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to implement corporate financial policy and plans, as well as develop financial policy and plans for a business unit or division. He/she will have had oversight of a budget, cost control and capital planning, in addition to demonstrated success in providing strategic financial leadership and influence over improving financial results and systems.

·         Strategic Orientation:  The successful candidate will be creative and capable of thinking broadly about business – not just financial issues.  The candidate will have the ability to work with senior management, to help shape a business and financial strategy.  He/she will demonstrate how they partner with and provide thought-leadership to senior management and the business unit manager and provide them with insightful, value-added advice, drawing on the information and analysis of the team.  This involves active management in real time, not just reporting the performance after the fact, questioning broad strategic plans and results, partnering on developing improvements and enhancements, and challenging assumptions.

·         Results Orientation:  The ideal candidate will have a track record of consistently delivering significant year-over-year improvement in financial results in a software or technology business characterized by a high sense of urgency and a need for change and continuous improvement.  The candidate must show their ability to identify and drive efficiencies across a complex, global software development or IT organization. He/she will have demonstrated an ability to improve financial systems to effectively identify cost drivers to support strategic and operational initiatives, insuring the efficient operation of the day to day finance function. This individual will not be satisfied with simply achieving goals, but will seek out ways to consistently exceed them.

·         Team Leadership:  The successful candidate will be a “change champion,” breaking down silos and promoting collaboration, while building deep organization strength to impact the future growth and profitability of the business.  He/she will focus on educating, coaching and mentoring the team and consistently bring in best-in-class performers to ensure continued growth and success of the business.  The candidate will possess the ability to effectively motivate others to achieve goals and objectives, and develop leadership capability within the team.
