What you will achieve

 

The Airline Point of Sale team is looking to transform and modernize our existing technologies and move seamlessly to the Cloud and build next generation software solutions.    This is unique opportunity to work on designing, expanding and maintaining high availability eCommerce suite of applications.

What you will be doing

 

Duties/responsibilities: 

 

•    Works independently designing and developing complex new software products or major enhancements to existing software
•    Participates in cross-team architecture design sessions
•    Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects  and technologies
•    May interface with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications 
•    Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
•    Promotes best coding practices and software development standards
•    Supports Dev Team in the estimation process
•    Designs and builds prototype applications
•    Researches best practices, new tools and technology. 
•    Act as example by being the person who most closely follows the principles and practices we have committed to
•    Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and resolve them
•    Resolves customer complaints with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements
•    Commitment to achieving projects goals and orientation to improve quality
•    May assist in development of software technical documentation


 

Accountabilities

 

•    Minimum 10 years related experience
•    Excellent programming skill in Java 
•    Excellent in Algorithm and problem-solving skills
•    Experience with Tomcat or other application servers 
•    Proven ability to architect and operate large scale systems
•    SOA/Microservices implementation experience
•    Excellent in Design principles and patterns
•    Advocate of TDD/ Agile Engineering practices
•    Good knowledge of Clean code and refactoring
•    Good knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems
•    Experience with SQL, NoSQL(Redis, Couchbase, Mongo) Databases
•    Experience in SOAP/REST Web Services, JMS technologies, Kafka 
•    Experience in JUnit/TestNG/Mockito and other Unit Testing framework
•    Good knowledge of ELK stacks, Prometheus, Grafana
•    Experience in monitoring and improving performance of applications
•    Experience in delivering software via complete (CI/CD) pipeline
•    Experience with Spring core Spring boot and MVC framework
•    Experience in cloud computing (Docker, K8S, OpenShift), AWS, Azure
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Ability to lead and direct multiple projects simultaneously
•    Possess good organizational skills

Education

 

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
