Job Description

The product marketing principal role provides product line support for program strategy, market readiness and on-going sales support. This position requires close interaction with the product management, marketing communications and sales to drive market-led priorities.  Strong communication skills are a must. Duties include converting technical positioning into key market messages and launching the products into market. This individual is accountable for business results (revenue and profit) and cross-functional team leadership.

For assigned product families, this role will:

  • Position Airline Solutions as a thought leader in the market with customer centric positioning and messaging targeted to segment and buying role, through a multi-channel approach including (e.g. webinars, whitepapers, speaking engagements, or the Portal/Hub)
  • Support and enable sales by providing training to articulate key messages and market problems, target prospect lists, collateral, and presentations or integrated demonstrations (utilizing relevant personas)
  • Define and drive the product launch (go-to-market) plan (major/minor launches) from training, internal communications, sales enablement, and delivery resource availability
  • Collect testimonials or case studies and identifies key customer references to support a portfolio referral/reference program
  • Understand market and buyers to target, define buyer personas, and participate in relevant industry, trade and community events
  • Monitor market adoption of product through its lifecycle and identifying areas for new sales including consulting or cross-sell or up-sell opportunities

Job Requirements

EDUCATION:

  • MBA preferred. Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering.

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Certification in Pragmatic Marketing with at least 5-8 years of business-to-business product marketing experience in the enterprise software industry, at companies like SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, IBM.
  • Experience with marketing a product (s) across its life cycle from definition to end-of-life, including market requirements, market research and analysis, marketing strategy, planning and execution, positioning and messaging and sales enablement.
  • Strong, proven leadership skills in a cross-functional, matrixed team environment with executive presence.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and has a proven ability to operate well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Domain expertise in the airline industry a plus.
