Job Description

The Airline Solutions Product Management team is looking for Principal Product Manager within the API/SDK and Microservices portfolio. This position is joining a newly created strategic portfolio whose focus is to greatly transform and expand the middleware Microservices/API/SDK product portfolio within Airline Solutions.

 

Our Airline Retailing API platform enables our airline partners to build unique and differentiated retailing experiences that facilitate the distribution of their products and services across all touch points and channels, providing industry leading technology and flexibility to help them achieve the highest level of success in terms of reduced total cost of technology ownership, incremental revenue while providing enhanced customer experience.

 

The Principal Product Manager will be responsible for developing pricing strategies for the API/SDK and Microservices portfolio. The ideal candidate will own defining the pricing product strategy and the roadmap for our API/SDK pricing related strategic initiatives that directly impact the growth of the API/SDK and Microservices portfolio with substantial top and bottom line impact. In this is a highly visible position, you will interact with the senior management team within Sabre Airline Solutions business and across sales organization to create and demonstrate new value to business customers that will have a direct Sabre P&L impact.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and drive a multi-year product pricing vision and roadmap for the API/SDK and Microservices portfolio.
  • Build and drive processes for standard analysis of pricing development, automation and efficiency.
  • Model the financial impact of the solution and create and manage the portfolio P&L.
  • Develop ideas and baseline metrics to identify and develop pricing processes and measure models for optimal pricing effectiveness to drive gross margin improvements.
  • Develop the first draft of standard reporting (e.g. template updates, charts), presentation materials; and profitability (costing) analysis and reports to drive decision-making and for customer consumption.
  • Develop and test innovative pricing strategies that aim to grow the business.
  • Analyze customer data, portfolio trends and industry dynamics to gather customer insights, inform price testing strategy and devise recommendations to accelerate revenue growth.
  • Use best-in-class models, consumption data and trends, and competitive insights to assess and develop pricing recommendations. 
  • Address customer inquiries regarding billing invoices and metric related information in coordination with Service Delivery teams and other teams.
  • Ad hoc reporting/presentation building.
  • Present insights and recommendations to secure senior leadership buy in and alignment.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance, Economics or closely related discipline. MBA a plus.

EXPERIENCE: 

  • 2-3+ years of working experience in product pricing, financial modeling and analysis.
  • Ability to think strategically and tactically to drive the pricing product success.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage large, diverse and dispersed data sets to inform business decisions; Innovative thinker and creative problem-solver who constantly challenges the status quo.
  • A ridiculous ability and passion in making complex work in Excel look effortless.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to confidently present to Senior Leaders.
  • Proven ability to manage pricing strategy across various channels in a multi-location environment beneficial.
  • Strong work ethic with an intense will-to-win and demonstrated personal excellence. Ability to handle high pressure environment with multiple requests and aggressive deadlines.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, highly collaborative environment that is geographically distributed is essential.
  • Resourceful, action-oriented individual who possesses a sense of urgency and knows how to overcome obstacles to get things done in a timely fashion.
  • Strong commitment to excellence, integrity, and transparency.
  • Experience with market research, competitive analysis, evaluating and negotiating 3rd party strategic partnerships is a plus.
