Job Description

The Principal, Governance and Automation is a member of the Global Business Systems team who will establish and support a Center of Excellence (CoE) supporting Governance and Automation. As Sabre begins to embrace robotic process automation (RPA) and low code / no code development efforts there is a need for a liaison position in GBS to provide oversight and guidance to teams across the enterprise. The governance aspect for the CoE will be responsible for the definition of evaluation criteria for solutions and the oversight to ensure they are being followed. There will be elements of software development management, subject matter expertise with the technologies that are selected and innovative solutioning in this position; an ideal candidate will be able to build highly collaborative partnerships with business units.  



•    Provides guidance to non-technical teams that are starting their journey into robotic process automation and / or low code development. 
•    Define, with input from Sabre’s enterprise architectural guild, best practices for automation and low code / no code development as well as provide oversight to help identify solutions that need to be enhanced to adhere to the identified standards. 
•    Collaborates with functional technology leaders to align technology strategy while meeting strategic direction goal 
•      Work as an individual contributor, influencer and leader through the implementation and execution of the Center of Excellence.
•    The team member will be accountable for driving the application strategy and solutions that address business needs; partner with all IT functions, managed service providers, third party vendors and suppliers, and technology and business stakeholders. 
•    Support and work with a distributed development organization to define processes, controls and documentation
•    The employee must partner with key stakeholders to track and report metrics, providing visibility to all team members, ensuring a data-driven approach to decision making and facilitate open communication among team members. 
•    Ideal candidate must have a blend of business and technical expertise; must be savvy enough to manage up and down the organization and be interested in learning and applying new technology while influencing for results. 
•    Assesses budgetary implications of changing, expanding, upgrading or implementing new technology solutions that will either enable automation or provide better oversight to existing solutions
•    S/he will build a trusting and safe environment and promote positive team dynamics, enabling effective collaboration.  

Job Requirements

EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree or equivalent


•    Ability to anticipate and understand business strategies, objectives and priorities
•    Responsible for managing risk and security within the global business systems footprint in partnership with the CISO and the Risk and Compliance teams
•    Manages service governance and applies metrics to services to measure against defined KPI's and SLA's. 
•    Experience with continuous improvement, empowerment and transparency of project delivery 
•    Knowledge of Agile approaches and techniques
•    Demonstrated leadership in process and quality transformation and working beyond core job accountabilities
•    Demonstrated ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience
•    Collaborative and supportive approach to working with numerous and diverse groups of people.
•    Ability to understand the business requirements and converting them into solution designs
•    Strong presentation and communication skills
•    Team oriented individual interested in being part of and enabling a high-performing team while working in a fast-paced environment 
•    Resolve conflicts and issues that occur
