Job Description

Sabre Automation Engineering is making work easier for our developers, system owners, and delivery teams. We improve accuracy and reduce time to deliver infrastructure services by creating an easy-to-use data center services catalog and automating fulfillment of those services. We are looking for an experienced engineer to automate infrastructure deployments and configurations in our complex IT environments including on premise and in the cloud. As part of our Automation Engineering team, you will:

  • Be responsible for building interfaces between the data center catalog/CMDB and automation tools
  • Create orchestrated workflows with APIs or service catalog functions for maximum reuse
  • Work with third party service providers to interface with and/or improve APIs
  • Coordinate with internal customers to understand needs, technology landscape, and changing requirements
  • Provide architectural guidance to application and delivery teams
  • Stay current on industry trends and new technologies including testing and evaluation
  • Work independently on tasks with minimal guidance

Job Requirements

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent


EXPERIENCE: Minimum 8 years related experience. Advanced computer software skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to lead and direct multiple projects simultaneously; ability to delegate work to subordinate or less experienced team members; proven leadership ability.


Additionally, you will need a working knowledge of:

  • Data center infrastructure technology (Linux, Windows, DNS, IPAM, load balancing, firewall, etc.)
  • One or more automation tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Chef, ServiceNow, etc.)
  • The ITIL framework including configuration, change, deployment, and event management
  • JavaScript, shell scripting, and PowerShell scripting


Although the primary focus is on automating infrastructure provisioning, you will also support the enterprise automation initiatives which can include event management, software currency, provisioning, and service impact recovery.
