Job Description

 

 

The Manager of Systems Administration is responsible to manage the admin team, lead Administrative operations and Platform services working closely with DevOps, Network and Cloud engineering teams. This position is part of the Business application Operations organization and collaborates with the other functional and technical teams, including change & release management.

 

 

Responsibilities: 

 


•    Provide technical leadership and is responsible to initiate requirement gathering, develop proposed architecture, build landscape and support deployment of architecture
•    Has deep technical knowledge across SAP, Cloud and non-SAP helping transformation projects
•    Provide guidance to the team with technical core tasks including software installation, upgrade, Support Packages, patches, and fixes, installation of add-on software components
•    Support the team technically to resolve admin issues, optimizing services and ensuring the availability and performance of critical business systems
•    Establish policies and best practices to monitor and manage the servers, background jobs, performance of the system
•    Monitor the status of work processes, application servers and system logs etc.
•    Build excellence in Performance tuning, Incident Management, Leading the team technically & sufficient OS Administration knowledge
•    Collaborate with cloud engineers and lead application teams to provision network architecture and work loads required for the project
•    Serve as the subject matter expert, guide the creation of innovative solutions on time and within cost objectives and provide technical leadership and operational support 
•    Implement a shared systems admin and platform services team while leveraging best practices to optimize efficiency across the portfolio 
•    Provide quality and timely resolution of defects/ problems & addressing service requests using service management 
•    Ensure Service Operations, Knowledge Management, Continuous Improvement, Service Level & Availability Management are operationalized across the team

 

Job Requirements

 

•    Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience as technical expert/architect role and lead teams by driving several application admin and Platform service initiatives
•    Minimum of 7 to 8 years of Systems admin experience in lead role supporting components of SAP BOBJ, BODS, Qlik and Portal systems in a globally deployed 24/7 environment 
•    Cloud migration experience to public cloud platforms like AWS, GCP and Azure
•    Good to have SAP basis experience in core SAP and HANA systems
•    Proven experience in Application system installation, upgrades, performance tuning, and administration and architecture of applications running on Windows/UNIX OS, MSSQL and in cloud environment 
•    Experience working with Data center exit initiatives supporting application consolidation and decom initiatives
•    Experience working with public cloud vendors like AWS, GCP, Azure and cloud engineers to setup and provision servers required for application teams
•    Proven performance with configuring Identity Management, SAP Single Sign-on, SAML, X.509 certificates
•    Demonstrated experience with a complete project cycle from inception to completion as a technical lead for sub-projects of enterprise-level initiatives; experience with working in managed support environment 
•    Solid experience driving application vulnerability issues and meeting SLAs working closely with application teams 
•    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university 
•    Strong verbal/written communication with ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority
