Job Description

The Network Team Manager will coach, guide and promote creation of high quality, clearly documented, and compliant deliverables across Network Engineering Reliability teams. Following the principles of Network / Site reliability provide a high degree of collaboration with a wide variety to stakeholders within business and technology teams to drive change required to execute product roadmaps. Identify and implement strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce. Cultivate an environment of continuous engineering improvement through mentoring, feedback, and metrics.     This team is currently in transition from classical DC location based service to a cloud focused environment.  

The NRE team is a group of Engineers and Specialists handlining the day to day operational tasks in support of the company’s overall product deliverables.   The Team operates 4 managed DC location is Texas,  and has vendor oversite of two other locations.     As well as cloud service based on Google and AWS platforms.   

 
•    Manage and/or lead network and vendor teams, obtaining necessary resources, acting as an escalation point and removing impediments to achieve goals and objectives. 
•    Engage in hands-on design and ensure alignment of strategy, architecture, tools/methods with network engineers and architects to execute product roadmaps 
•    Collaborate within and across business units to prioritize, plan, and execute the development schedule for major product releases 
•    Assist with problem resolution analysis for incidents related to resiliency and security assurance, consult with other technology support groups as needed including Product Engineering Teams as part of problem resolution efforts.

 

Job Requirements

Must Have Skills:
 
•    6+ years of experience managing Network engineering teams
designing and building LAN, WAN and Wireless networks in concert with our suppliers. 
•    Extensive hands-on experience building and managing the development of complex, large scale enterprise networks that require a deep understanding of
networking logic and dependencies 
•    Proven experience attracting, hiring retaining and leading top engineering talent and high performance product engineering teams, including vetting vendor staff and contractor.   
•    Prior experience building out platforms or capabilities in a Global network required.
•    Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives.
•    Ability to quickly learn,
understand, and work with emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space.  Focused on Google.   

Nice To Have Skills:

•    6-8 years of hands-on software engineering experience. 
•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
•    Solid hands on experience with framework development and ability to achieve end-to-end automation of workflows. 
•    
Skilled in CI/CD pipeline creation and deployment of infrastructure as code in AWS using Terraform.
•    Scripting experience (Python, Perl, Bash, Ansible)
