Job Description

Help elevate our global presence! Sabre, the leader in the business of travel, is looking for a Designer to help guide the look of our global website and overall online appearance. This role is a mix of collaboration, strategy, design, with UX writing a plus.

 

The Designer creates the look, layout, and features of digital content – from global websites to marketing pages and email campaigns. The role involves understanding of graphic design, UI/UX design, and some basic front-end coding.

 

The Digital Designer will be an integral part of the web team and will collaborate with content, graphic design, and video teams as part of the global Brand Creative Team.

 

The Designer partners with corporate communications and marketing teams to envision, strategize, and execute the online creative needed. Workshopping with clients and assessing their needs, the Digital Designer will create and present concepts, wireframes, and/or prototypes, gather feedback, and incorporate as needed. The Designer is expected to apply best design principles, UI/UX practices, and current trends to their work and be able to explain the design rationale to clients as needed.

Job Requirements

Education: 

  • Degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, UI/UX, or equivalent professional experience

 

Experience:

  • 3-5 years  of professional experience in graphic design with a web emphasis, web design, and front-end development
  • Experience designing for a corporate environment is a plus
  • Strong visual design skills, both graphic and web creative
  • Strong UX/UI design experience
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to collaborate with management, marketing teams, creative team, and developers to define strategy and projects, build and propose concepts, gather feedback, and implement solutions
  • Present to audiences on subjects of web design, UI/UX and current industry best practices
  • Develop and update web documentation and style guides
  • Maintain site appearance, and enforce content and display standards
  • Must be able to effectively create and utilize information from user flows, personas, experience maps, and usability testing during the design process
  • Knowledge and clear understanding of the wire framing process, visual design elements and interactive elements, and responsive designs
  • Organize and administer task management, including ticketing, naming, file organization and other organizational tasks
  • Ability to be innovative and a problem solver
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation and guidelines
  • Experience collaborating with other creatives, giving and accepting feedback, and explaining design decisions and rationale

 

Technical Skills & Qualifications:

  • Highly proficient with standard creative tools such as Sketch / XD & Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with Wordpress content administration and page/post creation
  • Experience with and basic understanding of HTML, CSS, Javascript
  • Ability to create, edit, update Wordpress themes and plugins, a plus
  • Experience with front-end frameworks like ReactJS or VueJS, a plus
  • Experience with CSS/Design frameworks like Bootstrap, a plus
  • Basic knowledge and experience with PHP, a plus
