Job Description

The Director of Personal Technology (End User Computing) will lead a highly collaborative global team to design and implement solutions to help our resources do their best work!  Every resource at Sabre needs powerful, stable and secure tools to be productive.  We are looking for a leader enthusiastic about technology, with compassion for people and a desire to transform the way we work.  Since Sabre is a technology company, it is important to have the most efficient and modern tools for all users. This leader will be heavily involved in modernizing our desktop to help our development teams explore options on developing with local virtual machines or in the cloud. This work involves refinement and delivery of the current tools and definition and creation of future personal technology products and services.

Goals for 2019, include the delivery of several key programs and projects including completing the upgrade of 10,000 laptops to Windows 10, choosing and implementing a Unified Communication solution and automating various services offered by this organization.  In support of over 10,000 users world-wide, this leader will be accountable to direct all technical aspects of hardware (PC/Mac), operating systems (Windows/MacOS), and applications.  Scope includes: laptop, mobile, voice, video and collaboration products and services and productivity tools such as MS Office 365, MS Teams, MS Sharepoint, Cisco Jabber, Cisco Webex, etc.). 

We are looking for a structured but creative leader who will motivate a 50 person global team with the overall goal of assuring that the current environment runs efficiently (24x7), which will include planning and implementing near-term hardware, OS, feature and software changes including changes to features provided by third party or cloud partners. This position collaborates with desktop support, service desk, product management, vendor management and asset management to create the end user computing service.

Job Requirements
  • 10-15 years of demonstrated people and project leadership including multi-site global teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead and direct multiple projects simultaneously and to delegate work to subordinate employees
  • Managing budgets of $50M USD
  • Experience with global vendor and product management
  • Successful completion of a global PC upgrade or migration
  • Implementation or support of Unified Communications solutions
  • Deep technical understanding of endpoint operating systems (Windows/MacOS)
  • Highly knowledgeable and excited about using and incorporating Microsoft Office 365 and related productivity tools
  • Versed in security standards and tools (including Microsoft, McAfee, TrendMicro, CyberArk)
  • Experience in all aspects of technical support and comfortable backing up technical support leaders in the event of an incident
  • Strong understanding of network architecture and infrastructure
  • Creative leadership approach to managing talent and how to use talent on teams in the best possible way
  • Confidence and communication skills to interact with executive team, other company peers and advisors


EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent, Master's degree preferred.
