Job Description

The Manager of Compliance reports to the VP and Associate General Counsel – Compliance and will be responsible for managing Compliance’s processes, investigations, training, projects and ensuring our business operations and procedures comply with legal regulations and internal policies. The ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate deep general commercial or functional knowledge across a wide range of sub disciplines in compliance, employment, general corporate law, antitrust/competition law, regulatory, immigration law, data privacy, intellectual property, trade secrets, and other areas specific to the technology industry.

 

This position will also manage a team supporting various compliance programs including, but not limited to, FCPA, Export Control and OFAC issues; process, policy development and training; interpretation of polices; CSI Watchdog due diligence reviews, overseeing the hotline reporting and communications; conducts investigations and interviews of non-Sabre and Sabre employees; leads the technical data operations of imaging laptops, reviewing email and other sources of electronic information.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Advise on legal issues involving government and regulatory compliance 
  • Respond to ad hoc queries to include identification, analysis, and evaluation of risks in order to provide appropriate legal solutions
  • Collaborate with the Legal department, Internal Audit, and the People Team as appropriate, to investigate allegations of unethical behavior or other violation of Sabre policy, recommend appropriate disciplinary and/or remedial measures, and ensure such measures are promptly implemented
  • Create and review regulatory compliance documentation and update as necessary 
  • Coordinate the creation, review and implementation of policies and procedures resulting from new laws and regulations
  • Apply and interpret audit and compliance requirements for various departments
  • Design and monitor control systems to deal with violations of legal rules and internal policies
  • Regularly assess the efficiency of control systems and recommend effective improvements
  • Review and evaluate company procedures and reports to identify hidden risks or common issues
  • Perform periodic audits on company procedures and processes
  • Lead employee training sessions on legal and compliance issues
  • Supervise team of compliance officers 
Job Requirements

EDUCATION:  

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business or equivalent

 

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum 8 years related experience; 5 years prior management/supervisory experience preferred

 

SKILLS: 

  • Proficient computer software skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to lead and direct multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to delegate work to subordinate employees
  • Strong leadership presence and skills 
  • Integrity and commitment to the highest ethical standards and personal values 
  • Excellent judgement and the capacity to make decisions and give advice that demonstrates an understanding of the risk/rewards of each situation
  • A high level of self-motivation and commitment to client service including the ability to work as part of a small dedicated team of compliance personnel
