Role Summary

 

 

Sabre Travel Solutions is looking for an experienced Director of Airline Sales Engineering to join our Sales Engineering Team. With Sabre and Google joining forces in a 10-year strategic partnership to take the business of travel to the next level, the Director of Airline Sales Engineering will be at the heart of a major transformation and part of an exciting journey. 

 

The role will be responsible for sales of our Cloud Hosting services and our Data & Analytics solutions, contributing to the customer acquisition strategy and helping to identify customers’ business processes, systems and technical requirements. In addition to working closely with account-based sales executives to generate sales, the Director of Airline Sales Engineering will be key in recommending appropriate solutions and delivering onsite/remote product demonstrations directly tied to closing business and driving revenue across the APAC region.

 

The Director, Airline Sales Engineering will be eligible for a sales incentive plan and, for the right candidate, remote work flexibility from anywhere in the APAC region will be considered.

 

Role Responsibilities

•    Build quantifiable value propositions in sales engagements, scope definition and management to ensure proper expectations are set during the pre-sales process. 
•    Carry out detailed discovery sessions with customers to understand business drivers, pain points and critical success factors and determine how they can be addressed with the existing products and services. 
•    Develop strong technical relationships with key clients and vendors, acting as the customer advocate within Sabre to offer the solutions that meet customer business goals. 
•    Support sales and account management personnel on technical issues related to new sales and renewals/conversions.
•    Participate in strategic negotiations to ensure a strong technical understanding of the customer's current and potential technology needs. 
•    Provide an effective link between Sales & Account Management, Development, Product & Marketing. 
•    Maintain a working knowledge of the industry to act as a trusted advisor to the prospective customers.

Role Requirements

 

•    8+ years of experience selling cloud-based services.
•    Proven effectiveness as a technical sales executive, leading complex, cross-functional pre-sale engagements.
•    Ability to develop and secure relationships with buyers, decision makers, influencers and other referral sources, including C-level stakeholders.
•    Understanding of customer needs and pain points, defining sets of solutions and services - and skillset to communicate value to the prospective customers. 
•    Extensive experience using cloud architecture (GCP preferred). 
•    Understanding of cloud-native performance, scalability, reliability and security in an enterprise system architecture. 
•    Excellent English communication skills (both creating presentations and presenting) in front of both technical teams and at the executive level. 
•    Flexibility to travel up to 70%. (While frequent business travel is typically a requirement of the role, please note that all non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.)
•    Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in an ever-changing environment.
