Job Description

 


The global communications team is looking for a talented Communications Assistant to join us! Under general supervision, the communications assistant provides support in communicating the corporate image through researching, writing, editing, press releases, reporting, admin tasks, managing press lists, and helping to put together PowerPoint presentations for internal and external speaking engagements. Assists with the development and execution of PR activity across the EMEA region and occasionally globally.  Assists the global communications team (mainly the EMEA team, but sometimes supporting APAC and Americas teams) with daily reporting and helps coordinate communications activities such as company or industry events and trade shows.

 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

-    Supporting the team with drafting communications materials, such as press releases, public speaker notes, internal comms material, social media posts and press briefing documents
-    Supporting the EMEA communications team to deliver external events – both those hosted by Sabre and industry events, with a focus on social media
-    Pulling together various news reports for global colleagues and executives
-    Helping the EMEA communications team create engaging presentations for delivery at industry events 
-    Creating and maintaining press lists for media across EMEA
-    Collating content for media pitches and enquiries, and researching new story ideas from within the company
-    Keeping a regular flow of social media content coming from the EMEA region, and liaising with the social media team in Dallas 
-    Keeping team reporting tools up-to-date and devising monthly press coverage reports 
-    Providing proof-reading, editing and communications advice and services to internal colleagues and customers
-    Helping the local team facilitate internal “town hall” meetings and staff events 

 

Job Requirements

 

Must Have Skills:

 

-    At least 1-2 years’ experience in communications roles 
-    Excellent writing and editing skills
-    Excellent PowerPoint skills and ability to create professional-standard presentations (guidance will be given)
-    Strong interpersonal skills 
-    Strong organisational skills and the ability to work at speed
-    A passion for travel and/or technology
-    Proactive personality with lots of ideas
-    A whiz at social media and content creation

 

Nice to Have Skills:

 

-    Experience in working for a large, global corporate company or a PR agency
-    A degree in a communications-related field, such as PR, comms, journalism, English or languages
-    Second European language is an advantage e.g. French, Spanish, Italian or German
-    Work experience in travel or technology industries
