Job Description

 

We are currently looking for a talented Software Systems Engineer with DevOps and SRE experience to join our Development Operations and SRE team. The team is responsible for the maintenance of Sabre eCommerce systems which includes full development system ownership, CI/CD and automation, infrastructure stability, monitoring, alerting, security, support of production environment and configuration management. Sabre eCommerce solutions will be the main access point to Sabre services for Airline customers and 3rd party tools. We employ latest technologies and practices to handle high volume of transactions supporting millions of traveling passengers daily.

Duties & Responsibilities:
 
•    An individual with deep passion for innovation and performance, to work in the DevOps/SRE team
•    Act as part of a DevOps team that maintains extensive development and test environments using Continuous Delivery methods
•    Implement automation, effective monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code
•    Deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments
•    Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible
•    Implement industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management
•    Responsible in setting up and creating AWS and GCP deployments, administration, Operations and maintenance
•    Should be able to drive root cause analysis for production issues and continually evaluate and improve our processes and application standards
•    Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management
•    Have on-call responsibilities in rotation with the engineering team
•    Mentoring and guiding the team members 

 

Job Requirements

 

Education: B.S. degree in Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent

Experience: 5+ years of DevOps experience in a Linux environment, 3+ years of experience with either GCP or AWS


 
Skills and Experience:


•    Strong understanding of micro-services and related architectures
•    Strong experience with Red Hat Linux; must feel comfortable with scripting in bash, Python
•    Experience in DevOps support for applications using Java, Oracle, Apache, Tomcat, Linux
•    Experience with build and deployment tools such as Maven, Ansible, TeamCity or Jenkins, Git
•    Hands-on expertise in Cloud platform, managing cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform <GCP>; Amazon Web Services <AWS>)
•    Working experience with Docker containerization and clustering (Kubernetes)
•    Experience with templating frameworks like Terraform, CloudFormation
•    Understanding of DNS/Firewalls/Load balancing and network design
•    Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles
•    Experience with complex, high-availability systems, and Capacity Planning and Change Management
•    Site Reliability Engineering (Google SRE) experience
•    Proactive team player with the ability to work in a globally dynamic environment
•    Ability to handle multiple tasks/subprojects simultaneously, strong organizational skills
•    Good written and oral communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:

 

•    Experience with monitoring and log aggregating frameworks such as Kafka, Logstash, Splunk, ElasticSearch/Kibana.
•    AWS and/or GCP Certification(s) such as Solutions Architect Pro, DevOps Engineer Pro, SysOps Admin, Developer Associate.
•    Experience with Jenkinsfile pipeline development
