Senior Software QA Engineer
 

Job Description:
 

  • Champion and implement QA CI/CD automation practices. Design, code, and execute automated test scripts for Java applications
  • Design, code, and execute performance, capacity, smoke, and unit tests for brand new applications as well as new features for the existing applications
  • Debug complex software products using systematic tests. Develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products
  • Prepare reports and documentation updates - analyze and write test standards and procedures
  • Provide technical consulting on automation issues, tools and processes
  • Take part in researching best practices, new tools and technology
  • Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software
  • Analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action
  • As a part of a scrum team, work closely with software engineers, product team, architects to facilitate the design and delivery of a quality software
  • Resolve customer complaints with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of related industry experience in developing production ready Java applications
  • Experience with test automation and CI/CD, experience with designing, coding, and executing performance, capacity, smoke, integration, regression, functional and unit tests for Java applications, SOAP and REST APIs. Master in creating well defined test strategies for various types of functional, exploratory and regression testing initiatives, expert capacity for comprehending complex concepts and systems
  • Some Java programming skills and some expertise with script languages – Python, Bash, Ruby etc.
  • Working knowledge of all phases of the product life cycle, including engineering specifications, customer requirements gathering, software design and development, testing
  • Proficient in SQL, Oracle, comanding knowledge of Unix systems
  • Motivated self-starter with excellent English language verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Aware of the modern software landscape: QA tools, libraries, frameworks, tools, basic understanding of networking, load balancing HTTP/TCP traffic flows.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology and experience of working in Scrum teams
     

Nice to have:

  • Understanding of cloud technologies and resource management (AWS, OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of test-driven development (TDD), behavior-driven development (BDD) practices.
