Principal Product Management


The Airline Solutions Product Management team is looking for Principal Product Manager within the API/SDK and Microservices portfolio. This position is joining a newly created strategic portfolio whose focus is to greatly transform and expand the middleware Microservices/API/SDK product portfolio within Airline Solutions.


Our Airline Retailing API platform enables our airline partners to build unique and differentiated retailing experiences that facilitate the distribution of their products and services across all touch points and channels, providing industry leading technology and flexibility to help them achieve the highest level of success in terms of reduced total cost of technology ownership, incremental revenue while providing enhanced customer experience.


The Principal Marketing and Solution Manager will be responsible for working closely with the Director of Microservices/API/SDK on defining the overall middleware platform strategy.  The Product Manager is expected to lead and guide the strategic vision and oversight of the middleware platform feature and functionality set. Product Managers are responsible for developing and maintaining product roadmaps, as well as establishing the long-term vision. In day to day activities a Product Manager works closely with Agile Development teams, other Product Managers, Sales Teams and Marketing to understand, design prioritize and ensure delivery of features and products.


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of industry experience
  • Previous retailing (B2C or B2B) experience required.
  • Sabre experience in the areas of shopping, booking and retailing preferred.
  • Highly technical and passionate about the business of middleware and digital channel ready API economy.
  • Have a solid understanding of the API value chain, best in class platform practices and needs of developers and application end users
  • Experience working with API driven product, orchestrated services in a consumer-facing FinTech or eCommerce environment are an advantage
  • Strong leadership with demonstrated experience interacting with all levels of management and the ability influencing others without having direct authority over them; ability to cultivate team collaboration and flexibility under changing conditions
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, highly collaborative environment that is geographically distributed is essential
  • Experience with market research, competitive analysis, evaluating and negotiating 3rd party strategic partnerships is a plus
  • Good understanding of Agile development methodologies
  • Pragmatic Marketing Certification is an advantage


Key Responsibilities:


  • Drive the product roadmap and release plans, rationalize and prioritize product capabilities relative to investment and the annual and long-term product plan
  • Gather requirements from existing and potential customers, write business requirements documents, and monitor the implementation of each feature
  • Define detailed requirements to support the strategic product direction for the development teams
  • Track, drive and prioritize delivery of features and resolution of issues
  • Demonstrate leadership skills by building strong internal relationships across different business and technology units working with cross functional teams
  • Continually optimize the solutions and roadmaps, manage prioritization and trade-offs based on customer requirements, time-to-market, and industry trends and investment plan.
  • Collaborate with the business team and marketing on go-to-market plans.
