Job Description


Sabre is looking to hire a Senior Principal for our Data and Analytics platform strategy.  This leader will define and execute the D&A platform and too strategy and associated strategic data capture programs for Sabre.  Managing the D&A platform as a product, you will lead in the planning, evaluation and selection of the right data and analytics capabilities for the enterprise.  In addition, you will ensure the team is equipped with the best D&A skills, processes, technologies and data possible.

This role serves as an advisor to the leadership team to develop and deliver enterprise-wide solutions for complex data challenges.

Role Responsibilities

  • Defining Strategy: Identifies and standardizes the use of data and analytics platform and tools. Creates value by unlocking and sharing data and information in ways which will spur innovation.
  • Defining and Managing Platform Investments: Works with product management and development leaders to identify areas of technical and data needs for future data and analytics capabilities. Drives the development and deployment of the data and analytics platform.  Identifies and prioritizes projects and enterprise data initiatives utilizing D&A capabilities. Drives and executes the migration of all D&A tools, data and products
  • Advising and Reporting: Serves as the Data Analytics technical advisor.  Represents the D&A team and enterprise data stewards at leadership meetings and conferences.  Develops and gives oral presentations on the power and value of data.  Leads and/or serves on steering committees and helps leadership use its data effectively at these meetings. Drives internal education with Data Literacy Programs, CEO Creation, Vendor sponsored trainings, etc.
  • Facilitating Internal and External Collaboration: Collaborates with industry data experts to allow a proactive approach to improving insights derived from various data sources.  Applies expert knowledge and mastery of analytical methods, and standards to analyze enterprise results and reports, relevant external publications, and conference papers. Recommends and pursues collaboration and provides appropriate technical guidance to ensure the success of such collaborations. Interacts with business areas and IT department on D&A solutions.
  • Identifying Opportunities for New Data Products: Lead strategy development for D&A products to ensure the program becomes pervasive throughout the organization and helps enable new revenue streams.  To support these endeavors, collaborate with the development and IT teams to ensure that data, platform and tools are in place. Be a champion for the information services and related D&A capabilities. Drives data democratization across Sabre.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressively relevant experience in data management, including creating partnerships, executing data governance, and understanding the underlying technologies needed to enable data innovation across a midsized or large organization
  • Proven success leading, coaching and managing a team
  • Background in programming, query languages, and data visualization platforms such as Cognos or Looker are also preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with developing data strategy, policies, and procedures, as well as successfully executing programs that meet or exceed expectations in a dynamic environment
  • Experience creating tools and capabilities to assist with data discovery & collaboration, ensure data quality, and to load, clean, enrich, manage, and share data and metadata from a variety of sources
  • Familiar with big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Big Query, Teradata, Vertica) and Extract Transform Load (ETL) tools such as Talend, and Google ETL tools
  • Knowledge of trends and developments in the fields of data management and data analytics with industry-specific knowledge of data security protocols, policies, and regulations
  • Exceptional analytical, written, oral, and presentation skills with proven track record of effectively communicating actionable insights
  • Exemplary diplomatic skills and ability to help senior business leaders see value, opportunities, and risks beyond their own area of expertise
  • Ability to effectively coordinate, allocate, and manage resources and projects throughout multiple teams
