What you will achieve


This role reports directly to the Senior Director of Software Engineering in the Hospitality Solutions HSPD Division. Key contacts that this role is required to interact with include business, professional services, care and product leaders of Sabre Hospitality Solutions Division and our customers. 
 
As a Sr Manager Software Performance Engineering you'll be responsible for:

•    Designing, implementing and directing the activities of a software systems development function, software applications development function and/or a software quality assurance function for the RPA group and leading/evolving the Performance Engineering function at Sabre Hospitality.
•    Providing leadership, career development, and mentoring for development managers and team members 
•    Providing a clear, strategic vision to set direction for the development teams 
•    Collaborating with cross-functional teams within Hospitality Solutions and Sabre wide
•    Overseeing the planning & technical direction of various development projects 
•    Advancing team members professional development and career progression 
•    Participating in problem management processes to look for tooling, automation and monitoring opportunities to improve performance and management of systems and networks 
•    Participating in the management of key vendor and partner relationships 
•    Making decisions based on divisional and business objectives that directly impact results  

The successful candidate will have


•    Experience with Cloud Technologies is a must. 
•    Experience with either Python/RPA OR Performance Engineering/Chaos Engineering is a must. 
•    Has demonstrated complete ownership of SDLC & knowledge of best practices for Developing Software, Planning, and Operations
•    Experience with applications that use data driven decision making models
•    10 - 15 years of technology related experience in product technology / startup companies, building high volume, consumer facing, highly reliable and scalable products
•    A minimum of 5 years of Manager level leadership experience managing distributed teams of technical professionals and cross-functional teams
•    Solid knowledge of Windows/Linux operating system, Windows Services
•    Experience with SOAP/XML Web Services, Service Oriented Architecture, distributed messaging systems
•    Experience with load testing tools like Visual Studio Ultimate/Premium Edition, JMeter, Grinder, LoadRunner, CloudTest, SoapUI/LoadUI, etc.
•    System Monitoring and instrumentation (Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus) and tools like AppDynamics, Dynatrace, New Relic, etc.
•    Performance monitoring of relational databases - Oracle and SQL Server, or NoSQL type databases - Cassandra or MongoDB, etc.
Self-driven collaborator with ability to work in diverse teams as a contributing member
•    Knowledge of memory management and Garbage Collection algorithms for server-side applications in Java/C#
•    Experience in Cloud technologies – GCP, AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform
•    Experience with Chaos Engineering is a plus

Preferred Skills:

•    Experience with MS Technologies, Cloud technologies, Cloud migration experience is a plus
•    Experience managing managers or supervisors across multiple teams
•    Success delivering products/services in a high-growth environment, exhibiting strong ability to identify and solve ambiguous customer-focused problems 
•    Success in hiring and developing highly effective software engineering teams in a global team environment 
•    High attention to detail with proven ability to juggle multiple, competing priorities simultaneously and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment 
•    Ability to take raw product requirements and create software architectures and designs to bring them to life. 
•    Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work successfully with teams across the organization, including Product Marketing, Engineering, Program Management, Quality Assurance, and Senior Leadership 
•    Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and opinions
