Job Description

The Director of Data and Analytics products defines and executes the data and analytics products strategy and associated programs for Sabre.  By managing several D&A Products, this Product Manager will lead the inception, launch, marketing support, sales support, multi-year roadmaps, execution and coordination with the engineering teams. This role will own a P&L for the products under her/his purview. You will also serve as an advisor to the leadership team to develop and deliver enterprise-wide solutions for complex data challenges.

 

Role and Responsibilities  

  • Existing Products Strategy: Manage existing products’ roadmaps, plan and prioritize improvements, engage customers to understand the needs and other market opportunities. Define the differentiating product vision and working closely with Engineering to deliver roadmaps.
  • New products development: Fosters the idea generation for new D&A products. Works with Product Management and Engineering leaders to identify areas of technical and data needs for future data and analytics capabilities. Drives the development and deployment of the new data and analytics products.  Identifies and prioritizes projects and other enterprise data initiatives utilizing D&A capabilities.
  • P&L Management: Responsible with the annual planning, budget and the revenue for the products.
  • Sales and Marketing support: Supports the marketing teams with planning of customer facing events, industry presence, demos, whitepapers, etc. Supports the Sales Engineering and account teams during sales calls.
  • Team Leadership: Manages several direct reports who are directly responsible for individual products.
  • Advising and Reporting: Serves as the Data Analytics products advisor.  Represents the D&A team and enterprise data stewards at leadership meetings and conferences.  Develops and gives oral presentations on the power and value of data.  Leads and/or serves on steering committees and helps leadership use its data effectively at these meetings. Drives internal education with Data Literacy Programs, and COE Creation.
  • Facilitating Internal and External Collaboration: Collaborates with industry data experts to allow a proactive approach to improving insights derived from various data sources.  Applies expert knowledge and mastery of analytical methods, and standards to analyze enterprise results, relevant external publications, and conference papers. Recommends and pursues collaboration and provides appropriate guidance to ensure the success of such collaborations. Interacts with business areas and TEO on D&A solutions.

Job Requirements

Must Have Skills:

  • At least 15 years of progressively responsible relevant experience in product management and enable data innovation across a midsized or large organization
  • Ability to define strategic initiatives and oversee the development of long-term plans and proposals
  • Ability to effectively drive business, culture, and technology change in a dynamic and complex operating environment
  • Ability to effectively coordinate, allocate, and manage resources and projects throughout multiple teams
  • Knowledge of trends and developments in the fields of data analytics and insights generation
  • Exceptional analytical, written, oral, and presentation skills with proven track record of effectively communicating actionable insights
  • Exemplary diplomatic skills and ability to help senior business leaders see value, opportunities, and risks beyond their own area of expertise
  • Ability to understand problems from a broad perspective and anticipate the impact of issues and solutions
     

Nice To Have Skills:

  • Industry-specific knowledge of data privacy protocols, policies, and regulations
  • Familiar with big data and analytics technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Big Query, Teradata, Vertica) and Extract Transform Load (ETL) tools such as Talend, and Google ETL tools
