Job Description

Sabre Airline Solutions is the number one provider of Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions to the aviation industry. We help over 300 airlines and airports around the world that rely on us for leading service-enabled solutions from advanced commercial planning, business intelligence, ecommerce, merchandising and reservations to inventory, departure control and enterprise operations. Interact is the SabreSonic graphical user interface for hosted Airlines POS functionality at reservation centers, ticket offices and airports.  The "off the shelf version" is used by 60+ airlines worldwide, in 1000+ airports and boasts:

Over 1 million combinations of configurable settings resulting in customized workflows, user experience, functionality and data applied as broadly as to the entire airline or as granular as to a single agent's EPR

4 languages: English, Español, Português and Russian

Functionality including two departure control systems, shopping, pricing, ticketing, baggage management, a world class profile system

Integration with 6 different loyalty systems and 4 different fraud prevention products and much, much more


Job Requirements

General Description

  • Developer codes, tests and debugs new moderately complex software solutions or enhancements to existing software in a maintenance capacity.
  • Has good understanding of business application.
  • Abile to expand his/her programming skills with Microservices.
  • Works with technical staff and must possess strong vendor communication skills to understand and resolve software related issues.
  • Resolves customer complaints with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
  • Assist in development of technical specification.
  • Create optimization programs to resolve problems; design and build prototype applications in collaboration with architects

Desired Skills

  • 10+ years of software development experience and broad knowledge of development tools and
  • 5+ years’ experience in Java/J2EE, Web technologies like HTML5, Java Script, Angular/React JS,  Flux etc., Webservices (RESTful/SOAP);
  • techniques including code quality and metrics, Software Architecture Design
  • Good understanding and practical experience in applying TDD practices, code refactoring, continuous integration and agile methodology
  • Good understanding of design principles and object oriented languages
  • Understanding of Version Control
  • Proficient in Agile practices
  • 5+ years working as part of global team.
  • Ability to solve problems in a timely manner
  • Able to collaborate well with distributed scrum teams.
  • Has excellent negotiation , communication skills, able to handle difficult conversations with stakeholders/customers.
  • Interest in working with peripheral programming such as passport scanners/gate readers and other proprietary devices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects/products simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Experience in Airline industry, microservices, cloud is a plus
