Job Description

General Description:

The Senior Unified Communications (UC) Engineer is responsible for planning, designing and supporting projects and operational activities for all of Sabre’s Unified Communication and Audio Visual solutions. The individual will be a self-starter and under minimal supervision, work closely with the UC Architect, internal departments and vendors to deliver a reliable UC and AV service for over 10,000 users.  The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge in either Cisco or Microsoft UC products with excellent interpersonal skills!

 Key Responsibilities:  

Partner with vendor to integrate, test, deploy, monitor, maintain and upgrade all core telephony and Unified Communications/Audio Visual technologies in multi-national environment

 

 

Design and support A/V Infrastructure solutions, create detailed design documents, evaluate and test new and evolving technologies and performance

Develop a UC/AV lab and own product releases (e.g. Cisco Jabber, Webex Room Kit)

Lead product adoption training sessions and solicit user feedback

Develop operational processes and procedures to be used by internal and external support partners

Document and manage the global telephony SIP/PSTN environment

Change management approval of all UC/AV services in an ITIL environment

Resolve telecommunication and other UC/AV issues and engage in the management and resolution of major incidents and problems

Job Requirements

Essential Experience and Technical Skills

  • Demonstrable VoiP codec, SIP, SCCP, H.323, ISDN, TDM and QoS experience
  • Cisco ISR, Expressway, CUBE and VG configuration experience
  • Managing Cisco TAC cases and other Cisco web site operational tools
  • Experience with the Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS) and Webex products
  • Advanced understanding of LAN/WAN and call routing
  • Room-based video telepresence design and implementation across global office base
  • 5+ years supporting and trouble-shooting issues with Cisco Jabber, IP Phones, Webex and Telepresence endpoints OR Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams products
  • 5+ years’ working with Cisco Unified Communications OR Microsoft SfB/Teams technologies
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Desired knowledge of Cisco or Microsoft video conferencing solutions
  • Desired Skype for Business / Microsoft Teams experience
  • Desired understanding of the wider Microsoft product stack including Office 365
