Job Description

Under general direction, responsible for the solution definition and delivery for new or existing products based upon the strategy and business needs as defined by Solutions Marketing. Provides direction to and ensures development meets market requirements; manages product release schedule and prioritizes opportunities. Manages the annual investment plan including capitalized investment, maintenance, etc.). Acts as the subject matter expert on a consulting basis on multiple projects.

Airline Operations Principal Product Manager:

 

Responsible for the solution definition for the Crew Planning and Optimization (Crew Planner, Recovery Manager Crew, Manpower Planning) capabilities that are leveraged across our Crew Tracking Solutions (Crew Manager). Key focus areas are optimization results working closely with internal Sabre Labs (Operations Research) teams, the seamless integration with downline systems for a strong value propositions based on Data Analysis.     

 

The candidate provides direction to his team of Product Managers (PM) and Technical Product Managers (BA), ensures development meets market requirements, manages product release schedule and prioritizes opportunities.  Manages the annual investment plan (including capitalized investment, maintenance, etc.). Acts as the subject matter expert to customers, delivery teams and developers on multiple projects.

 

Job functions include managing development priorities, delivery and resource capacity, writing business requirements support user stories and understanding solution alternatives. Responsible for managing product/ projects/ programs involving cross-functional teams. Monitors and tracks product adoption and performance. 

 

Interfaces with external customers to validate requirements, delivery / customer care to ensure understanding of product enhancements, and development to ensure technical solution meets business objectives and is the in point of contact for teams requesting modifications or new features to existing systems.  Provides guidance in developing functionality that matches current system features. The ideal candidate brings user domain knowledge.

 

 Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 3 years related experience. Advanced computer software skills. Proven written and verbal communication skills; ability to handle multiple projects.

 

Airline Industry Knowledge: Understands principals of airline industry and airline operations

 

OR

 

Product Management Background: Proofed experience in Product Management with a focus on Software development 

 

Communication: Excellent analytical skills, is a strong negotiator and facilitator, and has excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to interface appropriately at all levels (i.e. engineers, management, executives).

 

Systems Analysis: Determines how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes, knowledge of products and system architecture. Must have sharp analytical skills and be a solid facilitator.

 

Leadership: Must be able to work with limited supervision and be accountable for actions and decisions.

 

Product Life Cycle: Working knowledge of phases of the product life cycle, including engineering specifications, customer requirements gathering, software design and development, testing - including unit, functional, systems and integration, implementation/delivery and maintenance
