The Database Services team consists of highly skilled Application DBAs, which gives great growth opportunity for the successful candidate. This is not a production support role, which allows for a great work-life balance.

Provides operational database services to the development organization. Under general direction plans complex databases, including operational procedures and protection. Ensures accuracy and consistency of data, establishes and maintains security and integrity controls. Proposes and implements enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. Responsible for maintaining and updating complex databases. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices (ITIL) and company policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

•    Provides technical support to development teams
•    Administers database objects - tables, indexes, views, sequences and procedures
•    Assists with impact analysis of any changes made to database objects
•    Performs ongoing tuning of databases
•    Troubleshoots database related problems
•    Creates and maintains Oracle databases required for development and testing (non-production environments)
•    Performs the capacity planning required to create and maintain databases


Job Requirements

Minimum 5 years related experience with Oracle Database. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

•    At least 5 years of experience in managing database systems, with 2 to 3 years of RAC experience.
•    Advanced knowledge of ‪SQL language‬‬‬‬‬
•    Expertise in management of indexes, partitions and integrity checks
•    Expertise in database performance tuning
•    Expertise in database troubleshooting using SQL Developer or Oracle Enterprise Manager
•    Expertise in creating scripts to manage / monitor database systems
•    Basic knowledge of UNIX/Linux from user/DBA perspective
•    Basic knowledge of ITIL best practices and tools (ServiceNow, Rally etc.)
•    Good analytical skills - ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
•    Experience with the design, installation, and support of Oracle RAC
•    Experience with design, installation, and troubleshooting of data replication tools such as Oracle GoldenGate and Oracle Data Guard
•    Experience with troubleshooting RAC performance issues related to interconnect and ASM
•    Experience with design, installation, and troubleshooting of RMAN backups / restores in a RAC environment
•    Storage administration experience 
•    Experience with other databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and NoSQL solutions
•    Experience with PL/SQL programming
Added advantage to have
•    Experienced in any of MariaDB, MySQL or PostgreSQL
•    Experienced in any of NoSQL technologies such as Couchbase and MongoDB
•    Experienced in managing databases in AWS Cloud (RDS and EC2)  and Google Cloud
