Job Description

Senior Contributor Site Reliability Engineer
The Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for supporting the development organization to seamlessly deliver scalable and highly reliable software at an accelerated pace with high quality. The team operates in a flexible agile model to manage the various on-premise and cloud environments ensuring the smooth operation of the delivery pipeline. The person in this role is expected to bring in-depth knowledge and experience in the DevOps space including expertise with Automation, CI/CD, Build & Release Management, installation and patching automation and Cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities & Technologies
•    Primarily Linux Administration, managing a fleet of Linux and Windows VMs as part of the application solutions

•    Should have knowledge on Cloud Formation Scripts or Terraforms or IAC (infrastructure as a code)

•    Ownership of reliability, up time, system security, cost, operations, capacity and performance-analysis

•    Monitor and report on service level objectives for a given applications services. Work with the business, Technology teams and product owners to establish key service level indicators.

•    Ensuring the repeatability, traceability, and transparency of our infrastructure automation

•    Support on-call rotations for operational duties that have not been addressed with automation.

•    Support healthy software development practices, including complying with the chosen software development methodology (Agile, or alternatives), building standards for code reviews, work packaging, etc.

•    Create and maintain monitoring technologies and processes that improve the visibility to our applications performance and business metrics and keep operational workload in-check.

•    Partnering with security engineers and developing plans and automation to aggressively and safely respond to new risks and vulnerabilities.

•    Develop, communicate, collaborate, and monitor standard processes to promote the long-term health and sustainability of operational development tasks.

•    Design and Enhance current pipeline to extend it to a true end to end CI/CD pipeline

•     Closely work with internal networking and external clients for environment integrations

•    Should have experience on working Jenkins, Ansible and other automation tools. 
good to have knowledge on Splunk, AppD, Graphana and any other monitoring tools.
Manage and Support on-premise development environments.

•    Provision and Manage Cloud environments (AWS/GCP)

•     Collaborates with Engineering teams in an Agile environment to remove roadblocks and facilitate successful delivery of the work items

•     Proactively share knowledge on DevOps best practices, tools and emerging technologies.

•     Knowledge of Change Management Procedures (i.e Service Now)

•     Identify Opportunities for automation and implement innovative solutions to drive efficiencies, simplicities and speed

•     Participate in long-term strategies for scalability, stability and highly availability of platform

Job Requirements

• Minimum 4-6 years of experience as Developer/Sysadmin/DevOps engineer 
• Experience with several open source tools (Ansible, Jenkins ,Git,  etc.) 
• Experience with Programming languages such as Java, C# and Scripting languages such as Python, Perl 
• Strong experience with Red Hat Linux. Must feel comfortable with shell scripting.
• Strong expertise in Cloud, managing cloud infrastructure (primarily Google cloud & AWS) 
• Proactive team player with the ability to work in a globally dynamic environment. 
• Ability to handle multiple tasks/subprojects simultaneously, organizational skills 
• Good written and oral communication skills. 
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• Fundamental knowledge of Load balancers (F5), firewalls, TCP/IP protocols.
• Solid knowledge of web architectural and design patterns
