Job Description

We are in need of a contributor level quality engineer with a background in ETL, SQL Queries, Flat File Imports, SSIS Packages and Stored Procedure Testing for our new Data Interface team. This team will be responsible for bringing ticket related data into our data consolidation center. This team is critical to our success as our revenue directly relates to the number of tickets supplied to our end users. Data comes in primarily via dissimilar file formats from many sources around the world, as well as a .NET web application for sources that cannot provide data files.

We are looking for someone with a passion for data accuracy and integrity.


  • Microsoft SQL Server knowledge:  
    • Solid understanding of how to Select/Update/Insert Data in the SQL Server databases
    • Ability to test ETL processes such as SSIS package
  • Ability to analyze data:  
    • Recognition of Data Quality issues
    • Recognition of patterns in data that are anomalous and need sanitization
    • Ability to understand flat file to database field mapping
    • Monitor and maintain data integrity.
    • Extract data to various file formats as required for testing
  • Testing capabilities:  
    • Understanding of test case creation, storage and reusability
    • Basic understanding of Microsoft Test Manager
    • Able to create a sequenced test plan to cover ETL process or end-end process test case coverage
    • Able to create test plans and cases from either ambiguous or well-defined use case diagrams or user stories
    • Adherence to QA functional best practices

Job Requirements


  • 3+ years software quality assurance with a focus on data quality
  • 2+ years of stored procedure testing
  • 2+ years of MS SQL Server knowledge and experience
  • 2+ years writing test plans and test cases
  • Familiar with common rules for writing optimized T-SQL code.
  • Agile development processes
  • Self-starter, willing to get involved and do whatever is needed to get the job done
  • Communication and transparency with a fast-moving team

Nice to have:

  • Travel Industry knowledge & experience working with airline ticket data highly valued
  • Experience working with Microsoft Visual Studio and Management Studio
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Test Manager

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
